The West African Polytechnic, Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria was established in line with the provisions of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Decree No. 16 of 1985, as amended in 1993. Guided by the regulations of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the institution was founded to complement government efforts in expanding access to quality technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
Driven by a vision to bridge the gap created by limited admission opportunities in public tertiary institutions, The West African Polytechnic provides an inclusive learning environment for aspiring students. After fulfilling all statutory requirements, the institution received full approval and accreditation from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), the NBTE, and recognition by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

From my little time here as an art lecturer, it is important to say that it is worth it. I have fully come to understand that there are certain skills every art lecturer should master for personal intellectual and academic development.
